2009 Annual Letter
December 13, 2009
Dear friends of CVN,
As families and friends gather together in the warmth of your home and count your blessings, we ask that you make room for one more child. Ly is five years old and had to have his legs amputated because he fell into an open burning trash pit. Anh was nine when a Catholic nun bought her from a Cambodian brothel. Van had polio when he was a baby and will never be able to walk or sit. Thu is eight and lives on a boat because her family could not afford housing on land. These children and many more like them suffer in silence everyday. We are their voices. We want to change their lives, give them happy childhood memories and a chance at a better tomorrow, but we cannot do so without your support. These children have no one else to turn to. You—a stranger half a world away—are their only hope. “To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you are the world.” Please make room for one more child this holiday season.
In 2009, FCVN has worked diligently to raise funds through volleyball tournament/picnic, poker tournaments, our first-ever "Rock the Boat" 5K race, as well as small projects throughout the year. We help as many children as we can, but there are many more children that need your kindness and generosity.
We are a volunteers-only non-profit organization. We reach out to all children in need, without regard to religious and cultural differences. Rest-assured that 100% of your fully tax-deductible gift will be used to promote the health and well being of these children.
Please choose to change a child’s life today. We wish you and yours a beautiful holiday season.
Sincerely,
