Put Your Poker Face On…and it Better Be Scary. The FCVN is Hosting a Halloween Costume Poker Party. Seats Are Limited, But The Fun Isn’t
September 5, 2007
Are you ready to test your poker skills? Have you been practicing your poker face in the mirror since last year? Well, it’s Poker Party Time, and we thought, what better way is there to celebrate Halloween, than to Trick’r Treat with the FCVN. We have plenty of treats, and maybe a few tricks up our sleeves. Well, they’re actually prizes for the top five players. (We have awesome prizes retailing over $1,000.00, including a Garmin GPS, Toshiba portable DVD player, Olympus digital camera, Apple Ipod).
If you can’t find your poker face; you better get a mask. We have prizes for the two best costumes, too.
Do what you have to, to get there, but get there early. Seating is limited to 60, and tickets are selling faster than you can say, “All-in.”
You don’t have to play poker to come to our party. You don’t even have to know how to sing, but in case you can, or think you can. We will have a karaoke machine and some earplugs there to test your talents.
So, mark the date, Friday, October 26, 2007, from 7:00 pm to Midnight, as volunteering to help The Foundation for the Children of Vietnam raise money for orphaned children. We won’t tell anyone how much fun you had doing it.

FCVN 2007 Poker & Halloween Party (November 6, 2007)
FCVN would like to thank everyone for coming out and making our Party a huge success. We sold out to a full house of over 100 people. We made such a ruckus that the building concierge had to come up to the clubroom and sing karaoke songs with us…and during all the fun, we were able to raise over $4,500.00…FCVN puts the “FUN” in fundraising.
We here at FCVN are pretty sure we saw An Binh Phan taking the long way home. Don’t worry; she won’t get lost, she won first prize, a Garmin GPS Navigation system…can we use it some time?
Did you see Neal Hynh taking all those pictures? We thought it was because of all the beautiful people at the party. Then, we realized he won 2nd prize, an Olympus Digital Camera.
Do you know Ngoc Phung? We hear he is a movie buff. Great, then the Portible DVD player he won for 3rd place will come in pretty handy.
Cliff Pack came in fourth winning a 4 gb ipod, not bad, not bad at all!
Our fifth place winner, Nam, danced his way home. He won an Ipod, too.
Where did Frankenstein get such wonderful shoes? They allowed him to walk home with the best male costume. Who knew Frankenstein moonlighted as the Poker Master Augie Remy. Congratulations Augie, and thank you for everything you did to make the night a huge success.
Little Bo Peep aka Carissa Comfort, may have lost her sheep, but she won best female costume, and don’t think we didn’t see (or hear) her shoutin’ out all those songs in the Karaoke Room. “You go girl.”
Congratulations to all our winners!
What a cast of characters.
Jake Vu:Clark Kent/Superman blew his secret identity. Any Lois Lanes out there? Clark Kent is “single” and looking for you…And all this time we thought he was just a mild mannered patent employee.
A “sick” pink gorilla showed up. We’re not too sure what his illness was but, we came to the conclusion that having a nurse sitting on his lap, with her lips pressed to his face, was not temperature taking related. We think Dat Nguyen has the answer to the mysterious illness.
Hulk and Mrs. Hulk Hogan told us that they were not looking to win any WWF belts anytime soon. The only thing they were belting were Jello-shots. We think it was really them. Don’t you Ben Hang and Mary?
Hey, how ’bout Batgirl? She came with her own utiltiy belt. WOW! Did anyone see how she came in. We hear, she pulled out her Batterang, and scaled the front wall. Others are reporting that she slid down the batpole. However she got there, we are so glad she came to the party. She told us M2 invited her. Of note, did anyone see M2 and Batgirl at the same time. HHHMMM! Well batgirl, you did a fantastic job(s). You cooked all day. You procured beverages for everyone all night, well done.
This just in, we are now confirming that the pink gorilla’s illness was…get this, he was love sick.
Did anyone happen to notice the Angel and the pumpkin? Then, you must have had too much to drink. They were our beautiful bartenders, Michelle and Chau. Great job, girls.
Thank you again for supporting such a wonderful cause. We helped lots of children and had a great time doing it. You make it happen. Our next poker party bash will be in Feb-no better way to welcome in the new lunar year than by taking awesome poker prizes home.
